About Me...
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
Nadia studied Theatre Design (BA) at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts before completing an MA in Costume Design for Performance at the London College of Fashion. She has worked as a costume designer for over 15 years, creating costumes for theatre, film and television alongside a wide range of bespoke commissions.
Today, Nadia's creative practice brings together both art and sewing. From her home studio in Todmorden, West Yorkshire, she creates original artwork, teaches sewing, designs patterns, and makes bespoke garments ranging from wedding dresses, puppets and circus costumes. Through Nadia Sews, she shares her love of slow fashion, helping others build sewing skills and discover the joy of making clothes that are made to last.
At the heart of everything Nadia does is a love of traditional craft and thoughtful making. Inspired by the landscapes and communities around her, she enjoys working with textiles, paint, paper and thread, celebrating the beauty of creating by hand and encouraging others to do the same.
